ExitLink is a new platform developed to bring information asymmetry to the world of private equity. As we scale, we will save prospective buyers of companies a significant amount of time & money while increasing the likelihood that prospective buyers find a company that’s a perfect match for their professional background, personal interests and available capital. At ExitLink, we plan to do for the M&A world what innovative venture backed platforms have done for the world of real estate.

Current Openings

Product & data entrepreneur

The product & data entrepreneur will be tasked with helping us to improve our product at www.exitlink.net. This will initially focus on helping us identify new banker/broker sites we can add to our scraping algorithm and in some cases, working closely with our head of product to develop processes that help us import unstructured data. If you want to build a tech product someday, this is the role for you. You will work closely with our cofounders and will run point on making sure our product is unparalleled. You will be a key member of the team during your internship and you will conclude the internship fully understanding what’s involved with building a tech business from scratch.

You will be working with the founders of ExitLink at this stage will set you up for success for when you’re ready to launch your own venture – you will learn how to roll up your sleeves to create a valuable product, you will learn how to iterate and you will learn the questions to ask to prove out startup hypotheses. And you will gain access to a valuable network of investors & entrepreneurs through the founders’ relationships.

There is no set work schedule; however at a minimum, applicants should want to invest a significant amount of their free time over the next 3+ months.

Qualifications

You MUST have great communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be interacting with successful business owners / entrepreneurs and you must be comfortable on the phone. Additional qualifications include:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student
  • Clear track record of thriving as an individual and as a team member
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Must be driven, outgoing, independent, responsive, and tenacious

Our founders are graduates of The University of Southern California and Harvard Business School. They’re lifelong mentors and fervent connectors. They understand the value of a helpful, wide-reaching network and want to support young professionals throughout their careers. This position is unpaid but comes with an invitation for career-long mentorship and lifelong access to our principals’ extensive networks.

A letter of recommendation is guaranteed, and course credit is available, although not required, for undergraduate and graduate students. We operate in the virtual environment with principals in New York and Los Angeles.

Business development entrepreneur

The business development entrepreneur will be the main contact towards establishing relationships with business owners, private equity buyers, intermediaries like bankers & brokers and even senior executives who never knew they could become a buyer. You will learn outreach tricks from our founder who has built multiple venture-backed business development teams from the ground up. You will build relationships with important executives throughout the private equity and investment banking community. And you will conclude the internship prepared with the skills and knowledge to bring customers to your own future startup venture.
